AMD’s recently announced budget RDNA 2 graphics card, the Radeon RX 6500 XT comes with the Navi 23 core paired with 4GB of GDDR6 memory. According to official benchmarks, the GPU is up to ~50% faster than the GeForce GTX 1650 at 1080p while costing just $50 less. The RX 6500 XT is fabbed on TSMC’s 6nm node and features 1,024 shaders, 16 ray accelerators, and 16MB of L3 cache.
The core clock can boost to a staggering 2,815 MHz at a TDP of 107W and achieves a bandwidth of 144GB/s across a 4GB GDDR6 memory buffer running at 18Gbps via a 64-bit bus. The higher memory and core clocks allow the card to be 23-59% more efficient than the GTX 1650.
However, (unsurprisingly) the market price is well over the MSRP. In France, for example, the card is presently going for 299 Euros, roughly 50% more than its sticker price of $199.
