AMD just released the Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT, bringing the fight back to the upper midrange market. The RDNA 3 graphics cards are undoubtedly faster than their predecessors but leave much to be desired. A recent report revealed that the RDNA 2 GPUs are nearly as fast as their successors at fixed shader clocks, indicating a minimal IPC uplift. Because of their lower market prices, this makes the Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs nearly as appealing as their RX 7000 series counterparts.
The Radeon RX 6800 XT is the RDNA 2 card to get. With 16GB of GDDR6 memory backed by 128MB of L3 cache, it offers a solid 1440p gaming performance, rivaling the pricier GeForce RTX 4070 for $100 less. On top of that, you get 50% more memory and a copy of Starfield Premium worth $100 free. A much better value-for-money proposition.
