AMD Ryzen 7 9700X up to 34% Faster than Intel Core i7-14700K in Cyberpunk 2077

AMD’s Ryzen 9000 processors seem less than impressive in the multi-core segment or so claim the recent Cinebench leaks. However, their single-threaded performance looks far better than anything Intel can muster. The same will be true of their gaming performance. Last week’s leak from the Bilibili forums (via WCCFTech) demonstrates the gaming capabilities of the Zen 5 core architecture.

The Ryzen 7 9700X averaged 251 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 720p using the ultra-quality preset on a GeForce RTX 4080. That’s 34% and 29% faster than the Core i7-14700K(KF) and Core i9-14900K (KF). Enabling Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) improves framerates only by a small margin (to 256 FPS) which is largely inconsequential.

In Cinebench R23, the Ryzen 7 9700X scores 2218 and 172037 points in the single and multi-core benchmarks, respectively. The former is higher than the Core i7-14700K but the latter is significantly lower than the scores posted by Intel’s Core i7 CPUs (35K+). The Ryzen 5 9600X and the Ryzen 7 9700X are slated to hit the retail market on the 7th of August.
