Intel’s 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Refresh is out. A rebrand of existing 13th Gen chips, they don’t offer much in the way of an upgrade but keep retail prices steady. AMD has responded with price cuts across the board, which will more than suffice till its next-gen Ryzen 8000 family launches in 2024. The Ryzen 9 7900X has been discounted by $125, bringing its market price from $549 to $419 on Amazon and Newegg.
If you’re looking for something more affordable, the Ryzen 7 7700X is a good alternative. From its launch MSRP of $399, it has dropped to just $329. The Ryzen 7 7700 (non-X) is even cheaper with a going rate of $302 on Amazon.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the fastest gaming CPU, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. It can be bought off Amazon for just $369.99, $80 less than its sticker price. If you live near a Microcenter, you can grab one for just $329.
