AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D Gets a $210 Discount, Ryzen 7 7800X3D Drops to $349 (-$100)

AMD’s Ryzen 7000X3D gaming processors are retailing at their lowest prices since launch, with the Ryzen 9 7900X3D going for less than $400. That’s a massive $210 price cut, bringing its selling price down to $389 (MSRP: $599). Despite being a bit of an oddball, the 7900X3D is an excellent gaming and content creation CPU, beating most of Intel’s 14th Gen Raptor Lake-R chips at half the power. It features 12 cores: 6 on a V-Cache die and 6 on a standard Zen 4 CCD. For gaming, you’re better off disabling the latter.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D, our favorite gaming CPU, is also feeling the heat, its price dropping to just $349 (MSRP: $449). It features 8 cores on a single 3D V-Cache die, sharing a unified 96MB L3 cache buffer, drastically reducing the latency on most memory fetches. This results in peak gaming performance in a power-efficient envelope.

On the Intel side, the Core i7-14700K offers the best price-performance ratio. Retailing at $369, it features 20 cores (8P + 12E) paired with 33MB of L3 cache. It (mostly) offers the same performance as the Core i9-13900K for at least $100 less.
