AMD’s CPU share on Steam is closing in on the 35% mark, the highest it’s ever been. After a tumble earlier this year, Ryzen processor popularity has been trending upwards, hitting 34.69% at the end of May 2024. That’s a +1.23% gain over the previous month’s closing of 33.46%. Interestingly, Intel also recorded a +0.33 gain among Windows users in May. Team Blue ended May with a market share of 66.84%, up from 66.51% in April. The total share of the two chipmakers adds up to 101.53%, so that’s that.

AMD continues to be the dominant chipmaker among Steam’s Linux users with a market share of 75.04% at the end of May, up from 71.22% the previous month. Intel’s Linux market share declined by -1.56%, to 27.22%, the lowest it’s ever been.

Graphics Card Market Share

In the graphics card segment, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 and 4060 topped the charts, gaining +0.48% and +0.41% market share, respectively. An unknown Radeon device, likely an APU comes in third, gaining +0.26% share through May. The GeForce RTX 4070 came in fourth, followed by the RTX 4060 Ti with +0.26% and +0.25% monthly gains, respectively.

The Radeon RX 580 and the RX 6600 were the most popular AMD cards, trailing the recently launched GeForce RTX 4080 Super and the 4070 Super.
