Avatar Frontiers of Pandora PC Requirements: NVIDIA RTX 4080/AMD RX 7900 XTX for 4K Ultra

The PC system requirements for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora have been revealed. The game looks highly scalable with AMD FSR 2 and FSR 3 Frame Generation support at launch. In addition, Intel XeSS and NVIDIA DLSS will also be included. It’ll also support Ultra-Wide resolutions, ray-traced Global Illuminations, reflections, and shadows. Multi-monitor display configurations will also be officially supported.

The PC requirements for Frontiers of Pandora are divided into four sections: Minimum for 1080p Low, Recommended for 1080p High, Enthusiast for 1440p High, and Ultra for 4K Ultra. The minimum specs target 30 FPS while the rest are meant for 60 FPS using FSR 2 “Balanced” or “Quality.”

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: PC Requirements

MINIMUM

Visual setting: 1080p, Low Preset with FSR2 Quality/30 FPS

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600/Intel i7 8700K
  • GPU: AMD RX 5700 8GB /Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB /Intel ARC A750 8GB (REBAR ON)
  • RAM: 16 GB dual-channel
  • Storage: 90 GB SSD

You’ll need 16GB of dual-channel memory and 90GB of SSD storage alongside a modern hex-core CPU and an upper midrange GPU. From 1080p “Low” to 1080p “High,” the GPU requirements scale from an RTX 1070/RX 5700 to an RTX 3060 Ti/RX 6700 XT. The CPU specs increase from a Ryzen 5 3600 (Zen 2) to a Ryzen 5 5600X (Zen 3) as the LOD quality increases.

Visual setting: 1080p, High Preset with FSR2 Quality/60 FPS

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x/ Intel i5 11600k
  • GPU: AMD RX 6700 XT 12GB/ Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
  • RAM: 16 GB dual-channel
  • Storage: 90 GB SSD

Hoping to 1440p increases the GPU requirements to a GeForce RTX 3080 or a Radeon RX 6800 XT. The CPU specs remain unchanged with the same quality preset.

RoboCop Rogue City Performance: AMD’s $949 RX 7900 XTX ~as Fast as NVIDIA’s $1,800 RTX 4090?

ENTHUSIAST

Visual setting: 1440p, High Preset with FSR2 Quality/60 FPS

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x/ Intel i5 11600k
GPU: AMD RX 6800 XT 16GB/ Nvidia RTX 3080 10GB
    RAM: 16 GB dual-channel
  • Storage Space: 90 GB SSD

Switching to 4K “Ultra” will require an RTX 4080 or an RX 7900 XTX. As the LOD increases to the maximum, you’ll need a Ryzen 7 5800X3D or a Core i7-12700K. Relatively modest if you ask me.

ULTRA

Visual setting: 4K, Ultra Preset with FSR2 Balanced/60 FPS

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D/ Intel i7 12700k
  • GPU: AMD RX 7900 XTX 24GB/ Nvidia RTX 4080 16GB
  • RAM: 16 GB dual-channel
  • Storage: 90 GB SSD

Interestingly, the developers haven’t included specific hardware requirements for ray-tracing. And Frontiers of Pandora will feature a ton of it, from RTGI to shadows and reflections. I’m guessing the FSR 2 requirement at the quality presets is meant to offset the performance overhead from real-time ray-traced lighting.
