AMD is planning to launch its next-gen Rembrandt mobile processors at CES 2022. The Ryzen 6000 APUs will retain the Zen 3 core architecture but adopt the upgraded RDNA 2 graphics architecture (from Vega/GCN) with up to 12 CUs or 768 shaders. Furthermore, Rembrandt will be fabbed on TSMC’s N6 node which is a refinement of the tried and tested N7 node with optimized libraries. The Ayaneo, a Windows-based handheld console of some repute is teasing its next-gen console based on AMD’s next-gen cores. This could mean Cezanne (Zen 3 + Vega), but we’re likely looking at a Rembrandt chip featuring Zen 3 CPU cores and RDNA 2 graphics. The announcement is slated to come on the 4th of January (post AMD’s CES keynote) which makes it even more likely.
