Cyberpunk 2077 Gets DLSS 3 Update Allowing 4K 138 FPS with Ray Tracing

Cyberpunk 2077 has been improving with every patch, and today’s patch adds NVIDIA DLSS 3, allowing for silky smooth gameplay even with ray-tracing enabled at 4K. The DLSS 3 performance uplift enables RTX gamers to experience Cyberpunk 2077 with every setting and ray-traced option maxed without affecting the performance.

The new patch delivers improvements, including AI network enhancements for DLSS Frame Generation that better take advantage of game engine data, improving UI stability and image quality during fast movement. See an example in this video.

The game uses several ray tracing techniques to render Night City at incredible levels of detail and gives gamers a peek into the future of PC gaming. The current version of the game uses ray-traced shadows, reflections, diffuse illumination, and ambient occlusion. If you turn on ‘Psycho mode’ in the ray-traced lighting settings, you will see ray-traced global illumination as sunlight bounces realistically around the scene.

The addition of DLSS 3 sets the stage for the pending Cyberpunk 2077 ‘Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode, an upcoming update that will take the game’s ray tracing to new heights and greatly enhance the game’s already-incredible visuals. It will cement Cyberpunk 2077 as the new ‘But can it play’ game for years to come.

“Playing Cyberpunk 2077 with the AI-powered performance of NVIDIA DLSS 3 is the best way to access the stunning visuals the game has to offer — this technology helps us take a new step toward combining unconstrained visual fidelity with exceptional performance.”
