The 16GB variant of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is slated to launch on the 18th of July. After the disastrous launches of the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and the RTX 4060 8GB, NVIDIA will look for some positive PR and may price it the same as the 8GB variant. The latter ought to get a price cut of $50. Or, the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB may end up costing $449, leaving the 8GB variant unchanged.
The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti launched last month at an MSRP of $399 and was panned by reviewers for its poor value. The RTX 4060 Ti costs the same as the RTX 3060 Ti while offering 5-10% more performance than its predecessor. Moreover, the latter can be had for much lower, making the former a worse deal than it is.
The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti locks horns with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and the Radeon RX 6700. Its rivals cost less and can be had for much less than the marketed price. For now, the RTX 4060 Ti is mainly competing with its predecessor, and it’ll be a while before AMD comes up with a proper RDNA3 alternative. This gives NVIDIA ample room to adjust pricing without hurting its margins.
