NVIDIA RTX 4090 Nets Only 40 FPS in Remnant 2 at 4K Ultra

Remnant 2 is the latest game set to launch on PC, with less-than-ideal performance on even the fastest computers. The game releases on the 25th of July, while owners of the Ultimate Edition can try it out ahead of the rest. DSOG got to test the game on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and got some rather disappointing results.

Using the Ultra Quality settings at 4K on an RTX 4090 resulted in an average of just 40 FPS. Luckily, the game features DLSS 2 and DLSS 3, allowing RTX gamers to run it at ~70 FPS or ~103 FPS, depending on whether you have an RTX 20/30 or an RTX 40 series graphics card.

Remnant 2 is one of the first games to leverage Unreal Engine 5 with support for NVIDIA’s DLSS 2 and DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 2.0. Although the game looks good, it’s nowhere as high quality as 40 FPS on the RTX 4090. Plenty of graphical artifacts indicate a half-baked development period, something that should get fixed in the coming weeks.
