The latest rumors ahead of CES 2025 include some interesting tidbits about NVIDIA’s RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 graphics cards. The details include the TBP (Total Board Power) and alleged pricing information on these GPUs. According to the tweet below, the GeForce RTX 5090 will have a TBP of 575W, which is a lofty 125W uplift over the RTX 4090’s 450W power envelope. Furthermore, @kopite7kimi claims a TBP of 360W for the RTX 5080, 40W higher than the RTX 4080 Super.
An ASUS variant of the RTX 5080 has been listed for a whopping 1,699 Euro, which doesn’t bode well for gamers hoping for a well-priced 80-class GPU. Even though this is a pre-launch listing of an AIB card, it indicates that the RTX 5080 will likely cost $1,200 or more despite the poor launch of its similarly priced predecessor.
There’s mention of DLSS 4 on the listing which begs the question if it’ll be exclusive to the RTX 50 series cards or not? With upscaling and frame interpolation already available with DLSS 3, we’re likely looking at quality and performance improvements rather than a major feature release.
The GeForce RTX 5090 mobile is rumored to pack 24 GB of GDDR7 memory, courtesy of high-density 3 GB memory chips. This is a significant upgrade over the RTX 4090 which was limited to just 16 GB of VRAM. The memory bus is said to remain the same at 256-bit.
