When it comes to DIY PC building, hiding the cables is one of the primary challenges. Case designers and GPU vendors have tried a variety of techniques to tackle this issue, including channeling the power cable through the motherboard (ASUS Megaladon RTX 4070).
Unfortunately, compatibility options are very limited in the case of the latter. You’ll need the ASUS TUF Gaming Z790 BTF, or the GPU can’t be powered using the motherboard bus.
Inno3D has come up with a simpler approach that looks equally effective. The AX Esports Renegade RTX 4070 Concept Edition and RTX 4060 Ti Yingxue feature the power connector on the backplate. We’re looking at a clean white-colored design with a matching backplate.
The backplate is a two-part design where the lower half can be removed to hide the power connection in between the heatsink. The good thing about this approach is that you don’t need any extra components, and the power connector can be easily hidden under the backplate and directed through the chassis side sections. Furthermore, expanding this approach to the higher-end SKUs won’t require many substantial changes to the PCB.
Like the ASUS Megaladon, this variant will remain exclusive to the Chinese market for the time being.
